As part of our commitment to nurturing and developing young talent, Sylvester Keal are proud to support apprentices who are starting their career in the catering industry.
For young people today, we understand that it can sometimes be hard to gain experience in your chosen career area whilst earning at the same time.
This is where an apprenticeship can help, which allows the apprentice to work in a real job, gain qualifications and earn a competitive salary.
At Sylvester Keal, we offer apprenticeship roles for young people in a range of departments, and have specialist trained staff who are on hand to teach, train and offer support to young people who enrol onto our courses.
As well as benefiting the apprentice by allowing them to learn, gain qualifications and earn a wage, apprenticeships can also benefit the employer by increasing company productiveness and competitiveness.
For employers, this is a great way for them to train apprentices to develop specific skills which are required in the business, and also gives them the option to offer apprenticeships to existing staff to improve their training.
Martyn Keal, Managing Director at Sylvester Keal, said: “Apprenticeships are a fantastic way to get your career started, and allow the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and further develop the confidence and skills required to progress and succeed in your career. What’s also great is that apprentices will gain official qualifications after completing the course, and this could be the equivalent to a GCSE right up to a university degree level.
“It’s no secret that it can be a struggle for young people to get their foot in the door when starting their career. At Sylvester Keal, we believe that young people should be given an opportunity to develop and learn within the area they enjoy the most, which is why we are proud to offer a range of apprenticeships.”
In the past few years, we have had many apprentices join us and develop their experience in their chosen career areas, with many going on to secure full time positions with us.
Sylvester Keal are encouraging young people to get into the catering industry by enrolling onto one of our apprenticeship courses, and we even have two new apprentices joining us in the next few months.
