SK Spreads the Word as Gandhi Goes Global

The concept of 24/7 ‘rolling news’ has become an accepted part of our lives in the modern world and the most prevalent form of this is on social media. Twitter, in particular, gives a mouthpiece to anybody across the planet – with celebrities, and even politicians, being no exception!

The most followed politician in the world is Barack Obama, who has an incomparable 101 million followers (and counting!). He is then followed by US President Donald Trump, who is just shy of 50 million followers. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, is the third most followed politician with just over 41 million engaged with his tweets.

One wonders just how many followers the likes of Mahatma Gandhi would have commanded! That will forever remain a mystery, yet news has just been released that others will soon start to spread the timeless messages of the legendary Indian activist!

It has been confirmed that a new event called ‘Gandhi Going Global’ will launch in New Jersey on the 18th August of this year, which will seek ‘to spread Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology and philosophy across the globe’. This will be spearheaded by Bollywood film actress Kangana Ranaut and she will command a stage that will include former US first lady Michelle Obama and also long-time media sensation Oprah Winfrey.

At SK, we have often shared the wisdom of Gandhi when we have espoused our customer service beliefs and we are proud to have his famous quote ‘front and centre’ on our brand new website’s ‘Meet The Team’ page!

‘A customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption in our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider in our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favour by serving him. He is doing us a favour by giving us an opportunity to do so.’

Each of our team will always adopt these principles…

We are going global too, you know!
