Kindness Rocks!

At Sylvester Keal, we like to encourage anything that can help spread positivity and put a smile on people’s faces, which is why we have recently supported a Doncaster care home with a kindness project.

Sylvester Keal are supporting RMBI Home Harry Priestly House based in Thorne, Doncaster, with a project which involves spreading kindness within the community.

Residents and staff at the care home, which provides residential care for adults with learning disabilities, have been busy painting kindness rocks for their local community which include messages of happiness and positivity.

The rocks are then displayed outside the Home for passers-by to see, and some have even been hidden around the local town for children to find.

Along with the rocks is also an invitation for members of the community to exchange the kindness rocks for a plain one, in which residents will then paint.

When Sylvester Keal heard about this fantastic project, we simply had to get involved and some of our staff have been joining in and painting their own rocks, which is now a national craze.

Martyn Keal, Managing Director at Sylvester Keal, said: “What Harry Priestly House have taken on is something simple yet effective, which can easily brighten up someone’s day and spread kindness and positivity throughout the local community. It is such a brilliant idea and the team at Sylvester Keal just had to get involved.

“What is so great about this project is that people from all ages can take part and join in on this national phenomenon that has swept the nation, and we are encouraging people to get involved in trying to make someone’s day just that little bit better.”

Since the project started, it is fair to say that it has been working and members of the community of all ages have been finding the rocks and replacing them with new ones.

With members of the community now joining in in full force, the care home is now encouraging more businesses to get involved.

We couldn’t be more thrilled that the project has become a success, and we are very proud to have taken part in trying to spread kindness amongst others.

Let’s all try and spread a bit of happiness today!

Harry Priestly House is run by RMBI Care Co. which is part of the Masonic Charitable Foundation. For more information about RMBI Care Co.’s care services please visit
