After a month of incredible thrills and spills at the World Cup, it feels that we have all been on a rollercoaster ride with England – some spectacular ups, interspersed with a down or two!
Of course, the most iconic rollercoaster in our country is undoubtedly found in the North West on the Fylde Coast – namely the famous ‘Big One’ at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
At its highest point, the ride reaches 235 feet (72 m) above sea level and the first dramatic (and rather scary!) drop has an incline angle of 65 degrees! Indeed, it is the sheer speed that adds to the hair-raising experience and the usual maximum speed for the ride is 74 miles per hour!
The ride takes approximately three minutes and the high-octane adrenaline and velocity of the rollercoaster will probably mean that you cannot properly take in the spectacular views over the golden mile and the Lancashire coastline…
The Pleasure Beach is now offering a unique experience, by taking thrill-seekers up all 420 steps right to the very top of Big One by FOOT!!! Yes, you are permitted to walk to the summit and properly take in the incredible views! It will not be for the faint-hearted as the drop will look rather dramatic, yet you can very much do it at your speed!!!
The adventure-seekers amongst us at Team SK may well head across to the west coast to try this – potentially we could help the pleasure beach clean the top of the coaster using our market leading cleaning materials!!! After all, our Envirosan MRSA sanitiser/cleaner kills bacteria and even sanitises all surfaces where the human hand has been, like holding the metal bars at the top viewing deck of the Big One!
Enjoy the high life with us!!!
